Seeding
Graff’s Turf Farms’ seeds are geared towards high traffic and aggressiveness.
When selecting our seed blend, priority is given to shorter growing seed
blends paired with aggressiveness, high disease resistance, higher traffic
tolerance and deep green coloring.
Mowing
A reel type mower is used in our
fields. We mow at a shorter height
every other day to help build a
tighter canopy. This results in more plants per square foot for
a more durable turfgrass.
Fertilization
With our aggressive fertilization practices, our turfgrass grows actively on
the farm and on its new home ground. We apply multiple applications of
micronutrients during the year to maintain the healthiest turfgrass possible.
Harvesting
Cut fresh daily, Graff’s Turf Farms believes in shipping
the freshest product. Harvest occurs in the cool of the day (late evenings
and early mornings) before the outside temperature reaches 70 degrees.
With our sophisticated harvesting equipment, we have availability of small
rolls and two different styles of big rolls, as well as the ability to harvest
custom lengths and depths. We continue to work closely and directly with
our customers after the sale to provide traditional or custom cuts as needed.
Growing Conditions
Our farm is located one hour
northeast of Denver in a semi-arid
climate. The farm sits on
sand based soil which naturally
encourages quick drainage. Our
turfgrass is often utilized in sporting
fields to create less interrupted
play following heavy moisture.
